BOHEMIANS' DREAMS

Theatrical concert

Conductor:

Gintaras Rinkevičius

Director:

Dalia Ibelhauptaitė

“What's left to do, in these difficult times? To dream of better ones. After all, dreams cannot be taxed, you don’t owe them to anyone, and no government in the world can clip your wings! Therefore, please come and join us - here's a feast for your eyes and ears - an extraordinary theatrical concert directed by Dalia Ibelhauptaitė.

“Bohemians’ Dreams” program consists of our most secret, never heard, never seen and never realized ideas that are waiting for their time to come - excerpts from operas, musicals, pop songs and even an experiment in electronic music.”

In 2010 “Bohemians’ Dreams” was the first ever theatrical concert, during which the VCO troupe introduced to the Lithuanian audience works that had not yet been performed in Lithuania. This tradition later developed into two different concert cycles, but the main idea remained the same - to experience the joy of short and creatively productive meetings on the native stage for Lithuanian born artists working abroad. This gave them the chance to show their talents and work for which they are known around the world.

This concert was organized as a charity in support of the “Bohemian” troupe itself, as due to financial difficulties “Bohemians” were on the verge of disbanding. For the sake of this beautiful goal, as well as for invaluable experience, the concert’s entire second part also featured all the major sponsors of the company as extras on the stage! This concert and all proceeds from it gave the troupe a chance to continue its creative endeavors.
